The Ackerly at Timberland joined the CMBA in January of 2019. The group has been extremely welcoming and our business has seen immediate benefits from our membership. Our Food Service program has gained exposure through sponsoring lunch to the group for one of the business/networking meetings. Other members have inquired regarding catering options with our community. Other members have asked about hosting their business meetings/events in our large spaces. So far, we have hosted 3 different groups from the connections made as part of the association.
Our community also opens their doors to the public for many of our programs and events, like a complimentary senior fitness class. The CMBA website and social media sites have advertised our events, which has led to new referrals and visitors coming through our building.
In May, we were able to take part in our local Cedar Mill Farmer’s Market, utilizing the booth they set aside for CMBA members. We all take turns by signing up on a calendar that accommodates all the members and their business. The Ackerly at Timberland will get to use this booth twice this summer. The cost is a suggested donation of $10 that goes towards the Cedar Mill beautification fund.
Overall, our business has seen several positive benefits from our membership. The networking possibilities are endless and completely up to the individual. The more time you spend fostering these relationships, the more benefits you will see.
